Discussing how to give confidence to students in Pakistan and also how to make them face their fears in school.
At a young age, it is easy to ignore our fears and just pray and hope that they’ll go away. Unfortunately, this is hardly ever the case. As a matter of fact, if you do not face your fears in time, they will end up controlling you. Same is the dilemma in Pakistan. In Pakistan, students who are put in a school for educational purposes do not often look at school as an institution, rather, they are afraid of it and do whatever it can to stay away from it. There are many reasons behind this, but the most important being that students do not open themselves to each other at such a younger age, hence, they have problem learning about new things and developing confidence.
So, how does one overcome this fear of school and learning? It is primarily the job of the school and the parents to make the child comfortable to such an environment that they start exposing themselves more and eventually lose their fear. As a student, you should stand up and face the thing or situation that you are afraid of and eventually the fear will go away. In Pakistan, the schools should make it their primary target to expose children to new ways of learning, public speaking and to stand up for their rights at a young age. This will not only groom the child, but will also change their way of thinking, talking and will get rid of every fear that may settle in their minds.
One of the biggest dilemmas, students in Pakistan today face is the fear of speaking in public and getting their point heard. Especially in government schools and schools in rural areas, this is a big problem which restricts the students from going out in public and thus having low confidence. In order to overcome this issue, schools should hold competitions and should engage students in such activities which allow more exposure, and motivate the students to speak in public and to face their fears, more often.
Schools all around Pakistan to should also motivate their students by giving them motivational speeches and engaging them in activities, which will allow them to face any fear they have individually and get more polished and have a remarkable character. Any student which has any sort of fear regarding education, whether it be going to a new school, meeting new people or anxiety while learning should accept that change is always scary until you realize how important and exciting it can be. Students should be motivated in such a way that they should know the importance of change and should realize that in order to unlock their potential, they need to change and stand up to whatsoever there is bothering them.
